Hofner 500/1 Wiring - 'Dub' Switch

Hello all,

I am trying to figure out a circuit for a Hofner 500/1. I would greatly appreciate any help, as the schematic I've come up with is merely a hodge-podge of vaguely related diagrams I could find.

The idea is:

• Master Volume
• Master Tone
• Neck On/Off
• Bridge On/Off
• 'Dub' Switch

The 'dub' switch effectively sends the entire circuit through a high-value capacitor, as if the tone was rolled all the way off. The idea is I can flick it on/off at different parts of a song without having to adjust my tone knob. When the 'dub' switch is off, the tone knob still functions as a regular tone control.

I've attached what I've come up with -- would this work? I've also attached a blank if anyone has any corrections they're willing to share.

It looks like when you deselect the 'dub' cap, your bass dies. Signals from pickups can't make it to the volume control.

Thanks for the correction, fig! I think the way to do it is to send SW1/2 to V and SW3 to T independently. Does it matter which outer terminal I use, be it 3 or 1?

PS, if you/others like the blank diagrams, I will be making higher quality, blank diagrams for various models. I've already updated the Hofner one.

Perhaps I should start a new thread asking for what blanks people are after?

Here's a way that the Dub Select switch (Sw3) selects either the Dub cap (Tone Control disconnected) or the Tone Control (Dub cap disconnected). It's possible that when switching, there may be a 'pop'. Then, again, maybe not. Not sure.



Side question about the Tone Control cap. Did you mean 0.33uf or 0.033uf?

Here's the schematic of just the tone part of the diagram in post 4. Sw3 is just selecting either the Tone Control or Dub Cap.
