Hofner-(not just Beatle Basses)-Group Part 2

Hey there ! I’d like to buy a Violon Bass, but the Hofner website is not very clear, and I cannot spot the differences between the Artist and the Mersey.
What are the differences between the two, and is it worth the extra bucks ?

The Artist is a Poly finish were as the, Mersey is a Nitro finish. If it doesn't bother you get the Artist & have some money in your pocket.
If I was starting over I'd get the Artist. It sounded great!
I just received my first Hofner bass. It is the Shorty in sunburst.
Love it but it came with round wounds which sound terrible.

I usually check on Reverb. Berry Clark in the US is good for various parts. For my Shorty the only mod I did was swap the tuning pegs for HCT pegs. The slip right in with not need for any modification to the bass.
I sure wish they still sold there VOX replacement cabinets.
Second this. You know you’re getting genuine parts (sometimes difficult to tell on reverb, etc.) The only caveat I would add is that when I upgraded my HCT control panel to the German 500/1 panel, even with shipping, it was cheaper to order from Thomann. So depending on how much you’re spending or what you’re replacing, it’s worth checking

The bag that came with the Shorty was disappointing to say the least. Pics to follow of both basses.

Yeah, Thomann is great. They even get me stuff quicker than the Canadian national music chain sometimes.

A Cavern! Very cool. Ignition, HCT or German? I have an HCT Cavern. I wish I would have got a German one.
