Just wondering how you attach the strap. On mine if I use the button on the base of the neck it wants to flip forward. So I opted to attach it like an acoustic with the attachment at the head.

I loop it under the neck joint and fasten it, then I clip the strap to the tailpiece. It's the standard Hofner strap style. It's a really cool way to attach a strap; they're so unique in function. I also like attaching it to the headstock, very McCartney cavern looking!

I have one of the old school straps that fits snug between the fret board and body.

Really? I’ve never played an ignition so did not know. I always assumed they had similar construction.

Set neck on the ignition. I was thinking about a button on the body like a Les Paul Guitar but I think the wood is too thin. I’ll stick to the headstock.

German Club has a set neck as well but part of the neck and fret board is suspended over the body leaving a slight gap in which the strap may slip into. What I be correct in assuming the ignition bass does not have this gap?

Correct,the neck and fretboard are flush with the body.

I keep seeing some Verythin reissue models without pickguard and some with. I'm just looking at online pictures but the ones without don't appear to have any holes where a pickguard was previously mounted. Are there actually two different models?

I think the earlier models have pickguards but the later ones don't, at least that's the trend I've noticed.

Good question, I was wondering that myself. From what I can gather it looks to be a re-reissue of the V63. They were discontinued a while back. According to a reverb listing, there are only 6. Specs wise, it looks to be a hybrid of the V62 and V64.

I can't speak to neck profile, however I know the V62 is thick and the V64 is thin, so maybe this is inbetween? Maybe someone who's more knowledges can chime in on that.

Something I noticed is that these V63s have a nice tan burst going on, Hofners latest bursts are some of the nicest I've seen IMO the colour is perfect.
As far as what BO stands for? I can't even fathom a guess.

ICM, I have a V64 and confirm that the neck is thin -- just the way I like it.

As for the "BO", one might need a background with the German language in order to come up with possibilities.

been on a bit of a tone quest recently , have tried flats and recently tried tapes on my Hofner but whilst they sounded great on their own I was absolutely buried in a live environment, just got some rounds to try on my Hofner, I fully expect they will be coming off after a couple weeks but I havent tried rounds on a Hofner so I need to scratch that itch

Boost those mids! It sounds a little iffy playing alone but sits perfectly in the mix. (My experience is exclusively with flats).
