Hohner B2A problem?

I have a Hohner B2A headless bass. I find that when I switch to active mode then turn the bass/treble all the way up that it distorts.

Does anyone else have this model and do they have the same problem?

Thanks!

This might be a bit late, but:
A third possibility is that the gain is set too high on the preamp. My Hohner has a small hole in the preamp module where a screwdriver can be inserted to set the gain.
