Holly and Ebony Rick

Update

Got the binding ledge cut.
Suppose to be in the mid 60's to low 70's and sunny all weekend
Sounds like time on the deck with little umbrella'd beverages

Nice! We've had a couple days like that of late. Could certainly use some more...word is we get a bit of rain in the Pacific NW...

And I can't be the only one that has an urge to seek out holly after watching this build progress... :)

Actually, there was a guy that built a Holly for BOTW. That's what did it for me. So I get what you are saying. Just be careful of the sticker shock. BTW Holly Lumber - DomEx Hardwoods has the best Holly I could find.

So here's some more Pavlov's dog

Oh my......Oh my.....Oh my......

Don't suppose that this beauty could become a short scale and then offered for sale to fat people called Freddy?.......

Very nice. I've got an old Kay that needs a refinish and the binding is crumbling and falling off. I'd like to redo it with checkerboard and black or white binding. It has florentine cutaways and I'm unsure about the checkerboard on the sharp corners. That and that stuff is expensive to experiment with.

How much do you need to experiment with?

That's going to be stunning, with the holly and the binding and the two stripes and black alumitones.
How do you like the Samichlaus? I think it's very good but not for everyone. I did a vertical tasting of four years of it at a family holiday gathering a few years ago that was a lot of fun.

Thanks, I am looking forward to seeing this one complete

The Sami is a very dangerous beer. At 14%, you get knocked on your butt if your not careful.
I used to challenge my heavy beer drinkin friends. "Bet you cant drink a six pack"

I do like it however. It is surprisingly sweet, and the high alcoholic content isn't that noticeable when consuming
I bought a case at Christmas, and the bottle shown was the last of that case, so I'm Sami-less until next Christmas.

I appreciate the offer ( if that's what it was ) but I'm nowhere near ready to start anything on that Kay. I just need to try cutting the binding to make that sharp corner on the cutaways and get it to all look right. I think I actually have 6" or so of checkerboard from a Tele body I built somewhere if it made it through the move.

I WILL be interested to see how you do the other half of those two cutaways. If you have pictures maybe post some of the process on that. Thanks.
