home made Pickup winder

Anyone know a way to MAKE a pick-up winder for very little money? The motor, gears and mounts are easy, but how do I set up something to count windings? really all I need is a way to count the windings while the motor spins. i would like to experiment with my own pickups, i just don't have time to wind them and count them by hand.:help:

Far from it - a pro (a good one, at that) on another forum suggested it. I figured if a guy who has made many more coils that I will in a lifetime takes this approach, it's good enough for a hobby guy like me.
