Horror movies

I practiced scales & some other exercises today while watching AMC's "Fear Fest".

It was all of the Halloween movies.

Most of it sucks, which is why I was practicing. I didn't want to watch something interesting & stop practicing.

Here is Katee Sackhoff, from Battlestar Galactica, in Halloween : Resurrection.

At first I thought it was Brittany Murphy.

An arthouse cinema near me has been showing old horror movies on Wednesday nights as a lead up to Halloween. I got to see Bride of Frankenstein and Nosferatu on the big screen which was a real treat. Nosferatu had a live ambient musician doing the soundtrack so that was extra cool.

So those movies got me reading about German Expressionist Cinema after the devastation of WWI and how they stylistically influenced Hollywood. It's really cool stuff.

Awesome, love Nosferatu!

I just read that some of the interior scenes from The Shining were filmed at the Ahwahnee hotel in Yosemite. I went there on my honeymoon a few weeks ago and had no idea we were a 15 minute walk from the place. Im kinda pissed!

Yes! Im trying to convince my wife to do the night ghost tour. Theres no way she will though. That would be so great.

I didn't realize before that you're in Lakewood. You should check out those horror movies at the Esquire on 6th. They're showing Evil Dead on 11/6 and 11/7. The way I look at it is how many chances do you get to see stuff like that on the big screen?

I didn't realize she was in that one, mainly because I've never seen it. I think she was in another horror movie, but I can't remember which one. Loved her in BSG.

TCM is showing a bunch of classic horror films tomorrow and Saturday, I noticed a few of the Hammer horror films on the schedule. I will be tuning in.

I prefer the older ones--much better atmosphere, and slasher movies don't appeal to me.

And I know some teenagers that are more freaked out by the old B&W Nosferatu than anything produced these days.
