How about a 30" linear motor driver from 25Hz up to 120Hz?.

Want to see it. You dont need, heck You dont WANT 25HZ playing ;)

The good thing is maybe it could do 32Hz in F3 without large cabinet and without cone excursion problem.

Still need some 10" or 12" or array of smaller 5" to sound good.

Thanks for the link; very interesting
145dB @ 30 Hz. in a 32” cube
Has anything close to these specs been available before Powersoft?

Edit - Simulpost on specs but it’s worth repeating!

the fearful fanboys will be creaming their pants.

Bin Ich ja...nah ja—but that is reserved for someone else, ha ha!
But seriously, nice to see/hear of great low end devices, but I have even more than I need already—and I love it! :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

I suspect that there are reasons why this has previously been unsuccessful. Magnets weigh a lot more than voice coils. Hence, the overall moving mass of the driver (with a moving magnet and stationary voice coil) is substantially increased... and the sensitivity decreased - a lot. Given the lower sensitivity, the driver needs a lot of power to be useful - we now have class D amplification.
