How attached are you to your amp?

I like my Genz Benz Shuttlemax 12.2, and if it got stolen, I would definitely look for another, or at least another Shuttlemax. I have tried other amps, of course, from early '70's Bassmans, to pre/power amp rigs, Ampegs, GK, SWR, yadda yadda, but the Shuttlemax heads really struck a chord with me, and I've been using them for 10+ years now. Bass cabs, on the other hand....

So easy to dial in what I want.
Not ridiculously heavy or light.
Well built and reliable..
Locally made (well that's if you count the other side of Australia as local)... It's just up the road, mate!
I've contemplated "upgrading" numerous times but can never bring myself to do so.....because the work for me.
If I want a slightly different sound, I'll use a different bass

I'm less concerned with the sound of my gigging amp. I just need it to be light, easy to move, loud enough to hear on stage with a clean, pre-eq and master volume DI. Really a gigging amp is just a glorified stage monitor, if you run direct. I'm most picky about the sound of the amp I use to practice solo, because then I can hear every detail and want to be inspired to practice. This might be the opposite of a lot of people here.

I love my peeps and use my gear.

We are fortunate to have reliable and well designed gear these days. Unlike the not-great old days. I haven’t had an amp fail on a gig since the early 2000’s. Knock on wood. I use Demeter, GK, Mesa, Alembic, and QSC for the most part. They are all excellent. Big smiles all around.

I have decent gear that I have kept while trading/selling what didn't fit any longer. My small rig - Shuttle 6.0 and Shuttle 2x10. Mid-size rig - D-800+ and Subway 2x12, and large rig - D-800+ and two Subway 1x15's. If I lost it all, I would get another Subway 2x12 and very likely a D-800+. IMHO, it is that good.

I’ve upgraded to a Mesa amp and do love it, but I’m mostly using IEM’s on a relatively quiet stage. The IEM’s dont sound nearly as good as the Mesa but the fact I can keep my volume low and my ears protected from advancing tinnitus is a good thing.

My amp is an audio interface and a set of headphones, I'd happily upgrade the headphones or the interface as they're both getting kind of ratty and aged.

Minimal attachment. I could rebuild either of my speakers, and find another "micro" bass head. I was actually thinking about that as I was coming home from rehearsal. What are the things that I always worry about leaving behind by accident? The two things I looked back and checked for were my bass and my book. Many of the band's charts would be hard to replace, and it would be a major disaster if I lost mine.

My Mesa Boogie Bass 400. I've had the amp since 1991, and for 21 years this was my gig rig, so I'm very partial to it.
I can use it with any combination of cabs from mild to wild wether I have PA support or not.

I have others (also Mesa), but my 400 is my baby.

Even though my live playing is IEM only, I am attached to my amp setup. I practice a ton at home and I get a tone that I love, making it more enjoyable.

I'm genuinely curious: what modern amps are an attempt to "copy, ape, and simulate" the sounds of these? I think I remember seeing a Marshall bass amp and/or cab decades ago. Maybe mid-90s? I just honestly have no reference for what particular sounds and which actual amps these have inspired.

Since I only have one Bass amp. A Genz-Benz Contour 500 2x10 with 1X15 external cab. It's getting long in the tooth. Highly attached since it's all I have. But a Genzler Magellan 800 & NU 212 is in my near future ASAP.
