How did he get the design on his bass?

I like it! I usually dont like white basses but the black and the splatter really sets it off. One of my basses was GIVEN to me by a good friend who just doesnt play anymore, its a Fender Squier P with a really deep growl...I love it. Except for the pg! Of all the basses that Ive seen on this site, Ive never seen one like this. I plan to change it soon and maybe even repaint the entire thing and replace lost knobs. Normally I prefer originality (in everything) but I hate this alien pg and think the bass would look much better without it. Let me know what you think/suggest.

I painted this by hand

Like I said many times before, "Its all art to me", it looks good. Scotchy? Whats up with that though?

This is hands down one of the hottest bass guitar ive seen. I cant tell whether its painted by hand, looks to be it. And the splash effect is such a beauty

Im thinkin about painting one of my basses lik this

I remember doing something like this in kindergarden. We took blobs of paint and blew it around with straws. It looks just like it.

Could be painted by hand, or could be creative use of waterslide decals or vinyl.

I did some different things with waterslides... a lot can be done if you're creative and patient.

The picture in your link looks like a combo of paint splatters and hand painting though... to me.

Jesus man, that's the most beautiful bass I've ever seen in my life.

^that pg looks cool... but the alien kills it...

now i want a black bass with a sunburst pg :D
I agree that alien pg is....stupid! But easliy changed, the bass is kind of royal/navy blueish and I was thinking a different shade of blue pg or just black will look good too. I can also buy a pg and design my own, or splatter it.....sooo many decisions ARrgghhh!!! Want it to look just right y'a know? And maybe replace the knobs with something unusual / rare Its a great bass, my 2nd favorite. John is a gooood friend.
