How do I keep my head from vibrating off my cab?

I use this egg crate foam that I pulled off the walls from our studio. Works perfectly. Also a cheap yoga mat would work fairly well.

I hate it when cab vibrations make my amp fall off. After years of searching (and getting rid of cabs because they even made my tube amps fall off), I finally came across a cabinet that didn’t budge — no matter what.

Isn’t cab vibration something that should be considered when designing a cab?

My bass rig rattles the drummer's snare so I sold it (the drum) on e-bay. Won't he be surprised?!?

Never had an issue with my Acme and Epifani enclosures. In all fairness, the Acme's are braced to the nth degree.

There are practical reasons why most cabinets in some locations will cause this.

In general, it’s not a big deal, there’s enough acoustic energy alone that’s generated to cause light objects with feet that aren’t soft or sticky to move sometimes. This is especially true when the cabinet is tilted back. Even heavier amps can take a tumble.

While some internet experts suggest that the cause is always inadequate bracing, that’s not often the case. It can also be due to sympathetic vibrations between the two objects coupled not mechanically but through the acoustic energy causing the movement. This is hard to control with lightweight amps.

@agedhorse , you're the pro. Will the vibration harm the head over time if I use something thin, like a drawer liner? Would it be better to invest in an anti-vibration pad like something similiar to this?
