speaking of glitches and warbles..i just experimented with putting a bitcrusher in the effects loop of a superego+. This is the most beautiful noise ever
highly recommended. If i turn up the sample rate reduction and crush really high and play around with the superego's multieffect, i can get some super awesome glitchy/scratchy dubstep style rhythms generated from it. its been pretty inspiring to just set up a cool sounding rhythm with it, then start the loops from that
i might end up making a video showing these neat applications. there aren't enough videos about the superego on youtube, especially its more unique uses with the effects loop functionality.
Really depends on the effect. For example with whammy pedals I like how they glitch when Guitar players like Tom morello play chords with them. It’s almost like a bit crusher type of vibe, but not really a fan of that with bass. I think delay glitch’s can be really cool if you’re messing with synth bass sounds and want that EDM/dubstep like glitching in the bass. The boss dd-3 is pretty cool for that.I thought that this would be kind of a fun but polarizing issue to discuss.
Personally I use fairly high end (at least from a non boutique perspective) effects. I consider myself a Jazz/FUnk bassist but there is still something kind of cool and unique to be about pedals glitching or adding weird noises when engaged as long as there isn't a drop in low end, volume or a level spike. There is just something kind of cool and exciting when something makes a weird unexpected noise.

If I buy "fairly high end effects" I don't want any noise out of them that's not supposed to be there.
