How do you feel when the new bassist....

(not that there's anything wrong with that).

In a break up with a girlfriend, it's usual for someone to take your place. Best of all worlds is that there are no hard feelings and we all move on.
Recently, though, I saw a couple made up of my old girlfriend with a new dude.
They weren't bad by any measure, but the dude made Adam Clayton look like Clark Gable.

Compared to the grooves my girl and I used to make together, this new couple just felt soulless. I'm not bitter in anyway, because it was I who decided to leave the chick.

I talked to my ex and she admitted that the dude was a "rebound."

Awesome.

They weren't bad by any measure, but the bassist made Adam Clayton look like Jaco. He never once moved off the root note, and played 8ths with a pick (not that there's anything wrong with that).
Discuss.
So what do you mean when you say he made Adam Clayton look like Jaco? Wouldn't that translate to: He made a decent bassist look like arguably the best bassist of all time? I don't get it.

Good question, but easy for me to say that if they found a bassist who was heaps better, then I'm all in for it.
It's like asking John Rutsey how he feels.

I like John Rutsey's playing WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than Pearts.

I got replaced by a really nice guy, who had been fan of the band for a while.

He learned all my strange bas lines and added his own touch to them as well as helped create new tunes in perfect line with the spirit of the band, although not quite as I would have done it.

I had a really good feeling about him, and have no hard feelings what so ever against him.

On the contrary I have complimented him several times for his great bass work.

The only thing I regret sometimes is breaking up with Menfolk in the first place.

Anyway, they are no more, unfortunately, so I guess there is no use regretting.
