How do you listen to music?

With Apple Music I can listen to anything at anytime played through a house wide Sonos system

Reading through this thread, I was kind of interested about how much attention I paid to the music I was listening to years ago now it seems to be all on-the-fly... for me too!

Putting on a vinyl LP back in the 70s was like a ceremony almost. Let it play, and you listened to both sides of that darn thing.

Car FM radio, streaming Jazz24 or WBGO on my phone, CDs, Youtube, live performance.

My computer has two powered Bose speakers and I have an Anker Soundcore Boost powered speaker to carry around the house for bluetoothing from my laptop or phone.

My earbuds are an ancient set of AIWAs I bought at Sam Goody and my headphones are an ancient set of Optimus Nova 67s from Radioshack...maybe I should update those. I do miss my even more ancient Sennheiser HD 414s they were my favorites but they got lost during one of my many moves in the '70s.

Right now I'm streaming WBGO on I ❤ Radio through Roku on my TV.

Just thought of something, I should try running my laptop through the aux in of my Phil Jones Double Four amp.

Mostly in my car. Decent stock system. My daily drive to and from work is 45 minutes each way. At home usually itunes through my AirPod Pros. I only recently set my 2008 MacPro back up in the studio/office and hooked up my JBL305 monitors for listening when no one is home. I have a set of Beyer DT770’s for when jammin late nights… but honestly for just casual listening, the AirPod Pros sound better lol.

At home, while sitting on the PC, I use Neumann KH120A monitors.
In the living room, I have an old school stereo setup with Braun speakers, CD, network player and turntable.
On the go, I either use Sennheiser Headphones (HD650 or HD25II) or a Bose Mini Soundlink,
and in the car I have the 'big' speaker configuration VW offered 9 years ago.
All of the above is at least adequate.
At work, in my shop I have a system with 4 Sonos Play:1 speakers. I needed something capable of wireless playback in multiple rooms and Sonos was more or less the only thing that did not break the bank.

On laptop usually Youtube; sometimes listen or watch some ripped cd´s I used to have, some downloaded videos from Youtube (when download in HD or fulhd was easy); using AKG wired or Phillips bluetooth phones.

Sometimes on cellphone with bluetooth phones, for example, when washing my car.

Home stereo system. I'm old school. Linn turntable. Cd deck. Marantz model 30 stereo amp. Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers. SMOKES! (4,000 Lps, 2,000 Cds.)

Same here ... old school musical content owner with many thousands of CDs, six peach crates full of LP albums (although I haven't had a working turntable in a few decades), and hundreds of concert and music documentary DVDs and BluRays. Also a longtime Klipsch enthusiast with a set of Cornwall IIs and a set of Heresy IIIs powered by my beloved McIntosh MC4100 receiver that is sourced by my Onkyo C-7030 CD player. I've had this rig for a long time and it sounds about as good as I can still hear given the hearing loss I've undoubtedly incurred from attending countless rock concerts over the years and playing over 8000 gigs dating back to 1973.

Vinyl for stuff I like, Pandora for work, YouTube for channels that upload full albums of new music, Bandcamp for downloads (and vinyl, of course).

For me, a lot of times, it's just simply playing a video on YouTube (or Music / Spotify) on my phone where the bass response is not very good. Other times, I'll use Air Pods but between the phone with and without Air Pods, that covers 90% of my listening habits.

I'm a big Klipsch fan, so, at home it's my ProMedia 2.1 computer speakers (highly recommend them!) with my MacBook and Apple Music sub, or my Klipsch Cinema 800 soundbar (which is really good, but perhaps not great.) Had a pair of Reference Premiere towers I have since gifted to my brother. They were awesome. My AirPods Pro for when I'm mobile. Have a set of Klipsch X20i in-ear headphones which are killer but, a bit worn out at this point due to countless listening hours them (starting to sound fuzzy.)

Still have my Audio-Technica ATH-M50x's (don't we all?) for playing bass guitar when not using my amp.

Someday, I'll splurge on a really nice set of over-hear headphones, and perhaps one day I'll own a house in the middle of nowhere and equip the living room with a set of Klipschorn's :]

I listen to music on studio monitors with a subwoofer mostly. Over the ear headphones occasionally. Laptop or phone speakers rarely.

When I walk someplace or take the bus, I will use cheap headphones and listen to more abrasive music on my telephone.

Apple Music into Sonos (I have speakers in every room of my house) or via Bluetooth from my phone into Airpods or my car stereo. All my CDs are in storage these days (I stupidly gave away all my LPs 20 some years ago when I moved from Europe to the US). I don't even own a CD/DVD player anymore, everything is streamed. I also spent a decent amount of time on YouTube.

Most of the times in front of my Focal monitors in my halfway treated living-/rehearsal room. Or - when I don't like to sit and that is happening a lot - on the sofa in the same room through a Elac 5:1.
Although I have a lot of good headphones, I rarely use them, if I do, than most of the times for mixing or monitoring etc.
I never listen through iPhone speakers, only if there is no other possibility.
I nearly never listen to music, when I'm outside or in public. I like to immerse into the environment, when I'm outside, even in trains. Don't like this feeling to isolate myself from the space I'm in. I'm getting old...
