How do you transport your gear?

I gave my car away for a summer to a buddy that needed it. Training to the gig wasn’t that big a deal. Here’s a rig for a 3 hour outdoor festival.

For local gigs I'm usually rockin' a 2017 Tiguan. I can get my biggest cab (Tecamp M212) in the cargo area with the back seat tilted forward a bit, no problem. And there's plenty of room in the 2nd row area for bass head, a bass or two, pedalboard hard case and bass stand.

I also play out of state with an artist who uses a Ford 15-passenger van (kinda looks like a Sprinter). Even with all guitar/bass/drum equipment, a full PA, any other accessories plus luggage there's ZERO issues with room. And still seating for ~6 people plus the driver!

Inspired by a few posts on the official MB Subway Series Club… How do you schlepp your gear?
Many of us (or at least I) have a lot of gear and need to move it from home to rehearsal to gigs and so forth. So, having a vehicle is an important part of the music equation.

Here’s the back end of my Subaru Forster, transporting my guitars, synth, pedal board, amp, cab, and all the other stuff I needed to play music tonight.

I travel all over for gigs. Not unusual for me to have to drive 60 miles, and some 120mi or even 270mi one way.

I can identify with this.

Ford Transit Connect...barn doors on the back, sliding cargo doors on both sides. I'm moving offices today so it's laden with medical gear and such...no amps.

I have the utmost admiration for my metro brethren who rely on public transportation and questionable back-lines.

Ford Expedition EL …Gas hogging land yacht! Better to have space and not need it than need space and not have it ! Truth be told , I had it for when I was a family of four and two dogs… Now it’s just me and the wife, dogs don’t ride and Dad has a gear hauler!

Golf R is easy to load up with tons. Smallish Mesa rig (212) and one bass means that I can take two extra passengers. Hatch is where its at.

When I’m using my Aguilar TH500/GS112x2 setup, I use my wife’s Dodge Journey.

For my bigger setups, I have a long bed pickup with a shell. And I also typically haul the band’s PA, and the drummer’s kit as well.
