How do you transport your gear?

I sold my beautiful Mini Cooper S after being bullied in the rain in a Fri eve by a Honda Pilot. It did carry a Berg 3x10, Glock pre in 19” rack bag and Ashbory in Uke case.
The load in of the cab was so easy!
Huge inside.

I began on upright so I have always had a vehicle that would fit gear.

Sidebar my good friend drummer took his entire medium sized drum kit to the dealership before he purchased his GTI.

Ampless. I carry my bass over my shoulder, my pedalboard and IEM system in one hand and my bag of random gig gear (power strips, extra DI, cables, mic, etc in the other along with a mic stand. It all fits into a little car.

Wow.... No one mentioned the good ol' Chevy Astro / GMC Safari vans of yesteryear ! I still have one. I know @BassCliff used to have one, lol. Well, mine isn't all wheel drive, so it looks like the Jeep Cherokee with 256,000 miles will have to be the hauler today!

I have plenty of room in my Kia Sportage. I could even get all of my gear in my previous vehicle, a Honda Civic.

i've been driving a 2008 kia rondo for 12 years: i removed the passenger seats* and 'padded' some of the cargo space:


i don't have enough bass gear to fill it, but i can load my entire PA (cabs, amps, trunks) into the space. the cabs were built expressly to fit into that space. here are some pics of the car and one of two stacks:

* pic shows some seats, folded down, but all seats have since been removed, save the two front ones.

these pics are from ~2014-15. the car is not going to last that much longer. i'm really gonna miss it when it's gone! but i'll drive it until it's dead.

The original 1965 VW square backs fit an upright with scroll on dashboard. So I didn't get one of those. I got a Volvo 122s wagon. It did fit my upright. Or that would carry an SVT and Marshall Major head plus '70 Telebass. Or I said "or." A V4B cab and a Sunn 2000s head plus '70 Telebass. Or a Leslie 147 and same bass. Yes I played them altogether sometimes.
Those were the days.
A '60s Chevy Biscayne would fit an Acoustic 360 on the back seat and have room for one person on the back seat. LOL

I got rid of my extra-tall (6'3" inside) 12'x7' tandem cargo trailer and got a much smaller 5'x10' single axle. With all the new speaker technology, I can carry four 1x18 subs, two 1x15 mains, two 1x12 mains, two 12 monitors, a pair of power amps (back up only) and racked f/x, good mixer and backup, all the necessary cables and mics, my two SW 1x15's, my SW 2x12, three bass heads, etc. Even seven or years years ago, that would have been impossible.

If needed, I could fit my entire bass rig and accessories into my wife's CR-V.

I miss my pickup for alot of gigs....we play alot of fire co's and private clubs, which is great because they love live music and bands, but alot of them allow smoking inside. When i had my Toyota Tacoma pickup, i put everything in the bed (not my basses) and by the time i got home, it was mostly destunk.

i miss my Tundra, i now been reduced to a Honda CRV but its all i need if and when i ever have a gig again. I only ever hauled a my cabinet 4x10 the head and the bass, cables and stand..nothing else

Near as I can suss out, he got a 2-minute minor sometime last year and I think he hit the showers instead of returning to the ice. He is missed, and I hope he and his are well. Truly one of the all-time good ones.
