Nooooooo, I didn't. I'll admit that. I too was a 13" MacBook user 'til my son gave me the Pro in exchange for my birfday!

Snow Leopard, I have no use for Windows for what I use my computer
so if anyone is interested the 2x10 i bought was blown out befor my second 2X10 could come in the mail so im paying another 150 bucs to have it fixed ... sux. So i abondoned my hopes of having two 2X10s and I scooped up an ampeg 4x10 w/ a tweeter made in the u.s.a(not that vietnamese new crap) on sale for 540 and mixed together with the goliath 2x10 it sounds unbelievable I could not possibley be happier with the tone of this rig. but none the less it still farts... how big does a bass rig need to be not to fart???
Thinking that EQ will be your answer. You can get a lot of "apparent low end" out of a rig that's not dialed in for 40 Hz- I just throw this in quickly not having reviewed the thread though, might be redundant or off-base... but I think you'll get louder and punchier, and no farting, with an EQ tweak leaning more toward 'mids' than 'lows'.
I use Big Ben combined with two tens. I love Big Ben. It does respond well for a big speaker too. And as far as combining different cabs together goes, I think it's a great idea. Personally, I don't like the sound of 12's or four 10's.
I just sold a Big Ben a couple of months ago. Nice 18, surprisingly full range. I probably would have kept it, but a Peavey 1810 fell in my lap (Not "Ouch!", but picked it up for $100, fully functional). No reason to keep the Ben. The BB is a relatively heavy, but moreso awkward cab to move. Put casters on or don't let it get too far from a handtruck. If you love chest-pounding deep lows, not flabby - just powerful, the BB will deliver. I mixed it with a 212 and could flatten walls at 50 ft.
One thing: The output from an 18 doesn't focus fully till it's out 10-20 ft. So the cab will never sound as loud to you on stage as it does out front. If you turn up loud enough to hear your 18 on a noisy stage, the folks against the opposite wall will have tears running down their faces...

Interesting. I used to use two Mesa Boogie Road Ready 1x15 Thiele Cabs loaded with EVM15L's.
I often had the too loud out front not loud enough up close problem with those cabs in a tight room.
Something I recently noticed though with my 4x10 in a parking lot at Turner Field I recently had this same problem. With the same rig in a courtyard surrounded by buildings it sounded like a cannon firing.
