How good are you?

im pretty good ( i dont like to judge myself but... )

compare myself to a player .... hmm .... nobody really comes to mind right away. maybe sam rivers ( i hate limp bizkit mind you ). i consider myself able to do better than him ( not arrogantly ) i can play most anything if im given a few days/ weeks / monthes ( Jaco stuff )

writing .... hmm ..... fleas finger style probably. im mostly on emo right now. slow complicated songs with a mellow, jazz like feel then rock. :)

everyone tells me that i'm a bad motherf....and logically i should be, because i landed the bass spot in the best/most popular band in madison (they were already the best without me having anything to do with it)...

but i don't really think so. i just don't feel like stuff comes out like how i want it to yet. like...if i were to sing a killer bass solo, and play a solo, they'd sound TOTALLY different.

i have lots of chops, so maybe that's why people think i'm good. i can take a dump all over the chord changes as long as i doublethumb something at the end i guess. i'd rather be able to play the slow sh!t that's in my head rather than the fast stuff that comes out of my hands.

as to who i sound like - i'd like to think a cross between stefan lessard and stu zender. stefan is so tasty, and stu is the funkiest bassist ever, IMO, and i do everything i can to try to emulate him.

I'm not really that good I can play some cool sounding blues riffs and things of the like and I can play some songs like scar tissue, days of the week, and about around the first minute of Anesthesia(pulling teeth). And one green day song I learned at my lesson that I don't know the name of.

my writing style is like no ones because so far I have writen nothing.

Playing ability, i owuld say is somewhere in the regions of dirk lance from incubus, mainly because i listen to incubus and learnt all their stuff and they rule.

but i say for the kinda band im in my style is very close, only after hearing an album of theirs did i realise this but Robert Sledge from Ben Folds Five
