How has your luck been ordering strings over the net?

I guess everyone has their favorite place to buy strings and stuff. I have bought everything from a bass to a bass amp and bass strings and other things from Sweetwater. I just feel comfortable dealing with them. I bought a bass amp there I didn’t like and know problem returning it within the timeframe given. Be cool you all

I was just wondering how anyones luck has been ordering strings over the net.I ordered a few sets June 26th and to date,no strings.I also emailed them asking if the order has been shipped or when it will be shipped but no reply.But guess what?They sure charged my credit card.What has your experience been with this and is there a good place to order that has a good selection and turns there orders over quick?

On the whole, other than having strings backordered once in a while, I've only ever had one real problem; a set of counterfeit EB Slinky Cobalt Flats that I ordered from Amazon; or eBay, maybe - I forget which... I ordered them on spec several years ago, and never got around to using them. Didn't find out they were fakes until a month or so ago... Other than that? No problems at all. And, I order a lot of... well, let's call them "non-mainstream" flats; both for bass and guitar. So I order from just about everyplace that sells online. The couple of music stores here, will sell me all the D'Addario rounds I can stand; but, other than Cobalt Slinkys, Chromes, and (sometimes) Roto RS77s? Not a flat wound string in sight. So, if I need to replace the Sadowskys, TIs, Pyramids, Optimas, Gallis, or Dogals on one of my 22 basses? Online is my only option... Except for the TI JR324s on my Broadkaster, and the Roto 88 Tapes on my Rogue VB-100, all my basses wear flats. And, so do my guitars. So, online is it, for me...

I was a longtime customer of JustStrings.com . The shipping was deadly for a single set of strings. In my north shore Boston days I could drive up there in about an hour.
Honestly I look for strings at GC and Sam Ash. But Prime is pretty great.

Funny how we went from 'have you ever ordered strings on the internet' to 'why would you ever go to a store to buy strings' in the 23 years since this thread started!

The truth of the matter is the online shopping experience of 23 yrs ago, when this thread was started, was not the same as the online shopping experience of today.

True enough,point taken. Why do you feel it is wrong to share a positive ordering experience with the houses that I deal with at this current time? Maybe older threads need to be placed in a separate forum? What standard would you suggest?

For the record, I never said anything you said was wrong; I was just making a simple observation you chose a 23-yr-old thread to share your experience. No need to take it so personally... It was just a lighthearted tease when I made a comment about this being a 23-yr-old thread.
