How long can a bass neck endure with no strings?

Looks like my Squier P when I bought it for $50! I nicknamed it "Billy", rest his soul!

That was my first thought too. I've got a couple warmoth necks that sat for months/years (plus whatever time they spent at the factory) not attached to anything, and they were fine

….but it depends how tight the truss rod is. If the rod is loosened to neutral like at the factory then it’s fine. If the rod id tight eventualy the neck could strat to bow back.
