Not one minute, as soon as I started playing bass uke in mid 2014 and found this site, I joined, including being a Gold Supporting Member.

hmm, been a while ... actually just passed my 20th year! (joined April 26, 2006). I don't really think I waited to join once I was aware of TB.

I had been going to a tiny bass discussion forum, I can’t remember the name, and asked there if anyone had any information on the Epiphone Jack Casady bass.
One member there directed me here, and I joined within a few days.
That was November, 2000.

I remember seeing Talkbass when it first started, but I didn't think anything of it. I then noticed after a couple of years it was catching on. I joined after a couple years of lurking.
I was very happy with the Dudepit and that gave me all.
I would lurk now and then on TB for about three years
Then the Dudepit fell apart and a group of regulars started Badass Bass players
I did not dig so much...so I came over to Talk Bass and joined as a contributing member for 20 years

I came here when I was hunting current amp tech after 16 years not playing. I read up and went looking for an amp. It proved to be one of the best decisions I've ever made in terms of bass help and quality of community.

Didn't lurk. Just heard about it a lot from other places online for my first 2 years of playing bass and decided to come here when I realized it would probably be inevitable anyway. If you're to take the time between when I first came on this site and made an account though, it would probably be like, 30 seconds total of "lurking"
