How many amps do you guys own?

Way too many, but somehow not enough!

When I was a teenager in bands, my guitar player had a special relationship of sorts with the local Peavey dealer - we bought tons of stuff off of them. I managed to own like 10 different Peavey bass amps between the ages of 14 and 18. Plus, my very first amp was an all tube Fender combo (must be why I love the Fender tone stack). Since then, it's been constant in and out to try and find my favorite. I've slowed down over the past year tho as now I am extremely happy with my current setup.

I've only had three bass amps since picking up bass coming up on a decade ago. My Rumble 15 I bought the day I bought my first decent bass.. the 500w MoMark that ended up malfunctioning, and my Mesa WD-800 that I have a pair of Subway 15's in the other room waiting to be unboxed and tested for the first time tomorrow.

I doubt I'll be doing any kind of amp shopping in the next decade or more.

Used to tour with a Mesa Boogie Basis M-2000 Head (HEAVY as hell) into an Eden XLT410 (HEAVIER than hell) and a Hartke 4.5XL on the bottom. Great sound but I have no idea how I lugged all that around. From there to various GK rigs. I'm more than happy with my Genzler stack now.

Spinning off the basses thread, curiosity killed the cat- satisfaction brought it back.
Many of the members have more in a single room than I have had in over 55 years all together. Feel free to add how long and any you sold and want back, modified, new or used.
My total is only seven of which I still have three.

Ahhh, 4.I started when 15" combos were the readily available, but super cumbersome & weighed a ton, so It was less GAS & more what ever the local store had available! still have th 2nd but it needs work! I bump it with my car everyday! garage furniture now! For some reason in the early 2000's I got into collecting CABS, I have acouple of nice ones but question why!not like my Bass collection!

I started on bass in 1979 with a crappy Peavey head. Moved up in a few years to a little better Peavey head (Mark IV maybe?) Bought an SWR head in 1989 (still have it). Bought a Peavey Max 150 as a practice amp a few yearss ago, then a Peavey Max 250 because I needed a small amp for a few sub gigs. I have a Behringer practice amp I bought from a friend. With my main band I have played direst for about 18 years so I really don't need a good amp

Strangely, as I count them up, the number of Bass amps (all integrated, not individual components) I’ve had/have is identical to the number of basses that I’ve owned. 22. Of which Traynor, Eden And Mesa make up 15 of those. (5 each).
The one I miss the most is the Jule Monique700.
Only own 3 atm though. Traynor YBA100, ‘69 YBA-1A (which I’ve had forever) and a Mesa WD800.
I won’t start on tube preamps. That’s where my money goes these days.

I have 3 bass amps. A Fender Bassman 500 with 4x10 cabinet for larger venues, A Hartke kick back with a JBL clone speaker for smaller venues and a Ashdown Studio 8 for practice amp or even jamming at a picnic shelter. Each amp has their own purpose and I don't have to lug the Bassman for smaller stuff. I have a MusicMan Sting Ray 5, newer version and a Fender Precision Player series and both sound good with all the amps. Of course like most of us bass players I'm always trying new stuff.
