Spinning off the basses thread, curiosity killed the cat- satisfaction brought it back.
Many of the members have more in a single room than I have had in over 55 years all together. Feel free to add how long and any you sold and want back, modified, new or used.
My total is only seven of which I still have three.

I’ve had five rigs since 1986. I love my current amp: GK 700RB-II into a Dr. Bass 1x15” cab. I would love to get a second matching cab. Maybe someday I’ll retire the one I have and buy 2 15” cabs from a reputable builder, instead.

I still own my Peavey Minx practice amp, which has been converted to a rack-mounted head.
I still own my 700RB-II amp.

I don't do "amps"... I do separates.

I have almost all the major preamps, all sold off except the Tech 21 (I have 3).
I have a slew of QSC power amps in the 3kw range, which I now use just for PA.
My main "separates" power amp is a Crest 3kw model that I biamp at 100 Hz.

Too much work to figure the actual number out, probably at least 25-30 counting all the guitar and pro sound rigs I've also used for bass at least once over the years. Way more than basses in any case.

I have more guitar amps than bass amps since guitar is my main instrument. They range from fun lunchbox amps to full blown monsters of rock. In total I have 13 and looking to add number 14 as soon as I decide which one I want.

Thinking about it, I have never sold a piece of gear I bought. I've always thought maybe one day I'll regret getting rid of this so I'll just hang on to it. I bought it for a reason after all.

i voted "11-15" because it seemed safe, may be accurate, and it was in the middle of the choices.

since i've always had access to pro audio gear = i've played out many more "assembled rigs for the moment/occasion" than bass rigs per se, so there's that.

also: when you get old enough "how many" is simply less important...and subject to wild speculation --- as i've noted millions of times!

I currently own 29 amps. The only amp in this collection I have gigged is the GK 700RB/112 combo. I started the collection after I had pretty much stopped performing. At the time I owned the GK and a 6G2 Fender Princeton.

The amp that sent me into madness was Phyrexians "Grail". SCORE!! Trace Elliot V8 coming in! ...and yes I own the actual amp mentioned in this post (it was a long drive).

I learned to play through a Blackface Fender Twin that belonged to my brother. I was the custodian of this amp for about 15 years and paid to have it serviced and updated with JBLs. Eventually I bought an MTI era Ampeg SVT that I sold around 1989. Then I worked professionally in a military band for about 25 years and they provided all of my gear for official duties. So you could probably add another 10 or so rigs that were signed out to me, but I did not technically own.

Before buying the GK I assembled a couple of rack rigs for private gigs. You can't use military gear for private gigs.

So I guess I have owned about 30-32 amps depending on how you count. If you count the rigs I have had custody over, the number is probably between 45 and 50.

Just 5 in total. I started off with a Peavy t-100. I don't recall what happened to it (probably blew the speaker). The a Hartke kickback 120. Which I have, but needs a speaker. A Fender rumble 200. A crappy little guitar "starter" amp from when my son wanted to play guitar. And a Mesa Boogie TT-800 with a 1x12 and a 1x15.

I've played through quite a variety of backlines throughout the years though.
