How many amps do you guys own?

I have owned 3 Amps made in Aotearoa by a company called Jansen. Their 50 BassMan is a nice amp

I had a Peavey Data Bass combo
SWR Workingman 15 Combo
Fill, Fender and Marshall small practice combos

My 2 Amps presently are both Ashdown, the old ABM Klystrom and the newish CTM300 Klystrom Valve monster.

In addition to playing through a lot of amps and fiddling with a lot of PA gear, I took vocational electronics and served for about six years as a military electronics tech. Yep, I am a bit of a gear head .

I have owned 11 bass amps, if memory serves, but my favorites are my Genz Benz 6.0 12T Shuttle and (currently owned) Genz Benz 6.0 210 Shuttle... lightweight, plenty of power, small footprint and clear sound!

Since 1965, I’ve owned 12 amps/combos. As per my post in the “Family or Tools” thread, I still have 10 of them. The only one that I no longer have was the Two Guys from Harrison department store no-name combo that was my very first. If I recall correctly, I had to return and exchange that one three times because I kept blowing the speaker while not playing very loudly at all. After that: Ampeg SB12, BT25, B15N, B15S, Yamaha B100-II, Hartke KB12, Crate TXB50, Genz Benz NeoPak 3.5, Shuttle 6.0, Blackstar Fly. I no longer have the B15N.

Ashdown EB180 combo (great combo, wonderful sound, I do miss it. Sold it to a rehearsal studio years ago)
Hartke HA4000 head (not bad head, not great, just ok, sold it on eBay)
Ashdown MAG 2x10 cabinet (cheap, sounded good, heavy, got the job done. Sold it to a friend)
Gallien Kruger 400RB IV (lovely head, my first really 'good' amp. Wonderful sound. Sold it to a friend)
Ashdown ABM 210 cab (compact, quite light for a non-Neo cab, amazing sound. Traded it in)
Ashdown ABM 600 210 combo (amazing sound, great features, loud AF, not very convenient though. Sold it to a local gear rental place who still use it to this day)
Ashdown ABM 410 cab (heavy, glorious sound, no casters, difficult to transport, loud AF. Sold it to a local rehearsal studio who still has it to this day)
Genz Benz Shuttle 6.0 (my first class D head - compact, light, sounded great, reliable, loud. Awesome stuff. Sold it to finace my next amp)
Warwick Pro 210 cab (small, light, easy to transport, well built and good sounding. Great little cabinet, only sold it as I was moving away from the UK).
Gallien Krueger 700RB II (Still have this one. Doesn't get much use anymore on account of it being an old-school lead sled, but the sound is amazing and it really is great. Don't want to sell it)
Gallien Krueger NEO410 (Still have this one too. Way lighter and easier to transport than the Ashdown. Sounds great, is part of my 'big rig'.)
Mesa Boogie Subway D-800 (Still have this. My 'fly head'. Travelled all around Europe with me, countless recording sessions and gigs. A little tank. Love it)
Mesa Boogie Subway 1x12 & 1x15 (Got these when they first came out. Wanted a more compact rig than the GK 410. Great cabinets. I combine the 1x15 with the GK 410 for my 'big rig'.)
Darkglass Microtubes 500 (Was looking for a good 'hi fi' head when I just happened to try this out. Ticked all my boxes, plus I like DG gear. Good stuff. Sold it when the v2 became available because of the extra features.)
Phil Jones C4 cabinet (Saw it super cheap on Reverb, was curious, got it. Wonderful little cab, punches well above its size, super clean sound. I want another one.)
Darkglass Microtubes 500 v2 (everything the previous Microtubes was and more. The graphic EQ, the built in compressor, the 2ohm handling, all in the tiny package, will be amazing for travelling when that starts up again).

On my to-get list: another PJB C4 or a BG-400 combo, and maybe a Darkglass 2x10 cab. I keep the GK rig at the rehearsal space, the Mesa cabs at a friend's recording studio (he's allowed to use them for his projects, he's a pro and I trust him) and the PJB at home with the class D heads (as they take up virtually no space).

I love amps.

I think my first was a Peavey combo. I don’t remember. It was stolen from a friends house.
My Hartke 200w head with a 410 and 115. Still have the 200 w head.
I just recently upgraded to a Hartke TX600 head.

Well over 50 amps. Most people have way more audio amplifiers than they realize.

Maybe you should have specified musical instrument amps. Pedals have amplifier stages in them. Active basses have them. So does recording equipment. There are amps in car radios, home audio systems, computers, some headphones, portable digital players, phones, pads, TV's, etc.

The list is extensive when you start thinking about it.

i'd happily go back to the mesa D-800, and would if the price was right grab one of those cool old GK heads. but my markbass has always just worked for me. insane power, clarity, bottom, clear top end, strong mids, it's just all there. reliable as anything, too.

edit: lol i forgot my markbass minimark 2x6! best teaching/travel/practice amp out there!
