I always love reading these threads because it makes me feel a little more under control about all the money I spend on bass crap...some of you guys are KRAZEE !
I have a mere 2 amps and 3 cabs, all Carvin. I love their stuff. This selection covers everything for me:
Carvin BRX112Neo combo - 300 watts into a single 12" neo. Perfect for recording, and works great for very small rooms or stages, but if I need more horsepower I put a 210 neo cab under it, gives me about 700 watts through the 3 speakers. That will handle most situations and I can hear it really well because the 12 points at my head.
Carvin B1500 head into a Carvin BRX410Neo cab - For big rooms or outdoor gigs this is my go-to rig. That's 1200 watts and I have yet to really challenge the limits of this setup, even when it's crazy loud.
The B1500 into the single 210 is also pretty impressive. The amp is still putting out 1200 watts but the box is rated for 600, so I have to be careful not to overdo it, but it handles most club venues really well.
Most of the time I leave the combo at home to practice, the 210 in our rehearsal space, and the 410 in the garage until it's gig time...then all I have to haul around for rehearsals is my B1500 in an SKB RotoRack...not bad at all.
I like being able to match the rig to the gig and this gear lets me do it.
