I only have 5 basses at this point but I go up a bass or two every once in awhile, so I’m gonna answer anyway! Four string playing is split 40/40/20 between the Reverend Decision/Warwick Thumb/Fender Jazz depending on the tone I’m chasing. I almost never play the Mustang. Nothing at all wrong with it, nice to have but not indispensable. All the 5 string stuff is played on the EBMM Special 5H. Typically split the 4 string to 5 string ratio 75/25 which is why I only own one 5 string bass.

at some point i had 5 basses, and i used all of these - one was at one gig-place, second one - well - on the second one, one was at my gf's apartment, one was at the place where we had rehearsals / practice, and one at my place. -so i could easily switch from one place to another without carrying anything with me (just from time to time small boss GE7B pedal).

I have 3 basses. I think i covered the tonal options very good at least for next 5 years.
1- Yamaha BB424X. 4 string-Rosewood board- Passive
Amazing Bass with a really good P and heavenly PJ sound
2- Squier Dim DLX . 5 string-Maple board-Active
Very versatile and stingray-ish. Cuts the mix like Katana.
3- Squier VM Jazz 70's- 4 string-Maple board- Passive
Really good Jazz bass.

Lol!! They fit my hand just right. I've tried other basses and guitars, but it feels best with a Fender in my hand. BTW, did you know that all of Entwistle's basses had Precision bass spacing on the necks? Probably for the same reason. I can play these with my eyes closed; I even tried a fretless Jazz and knew where the positioning was without fighting to keep the intonation right.

I totally agree with that homey feeling, tough I really dig my Gibi neck, really round (but not too fat) but as it is kind of what you expect from a SG bass, it is ok. But I grew up as a musician having either a Squier or Fender neck in hand so they feel so natural now.
