What HE said! Sounds like mine!I know MIMs tend to vary a lot in quality, but this one was very sweet with a great neck, no dead spots...real nice feel.
I seen pictures of them, but have never had my hands on one. Tell us more?Fender P Bass Lyte
I play my Tacoma big body acoustic bass more often that any other...I hope you enjoy yours as I've enjoyed mine!I just acquired an acoustic bass
I got to play an M-85 sometime around 1975-76, and that is when I fell in love with "Guild"...and then my best friend bought a Guild acoustic guitar...and I fell in love again. You've got to consider, 1975 was not that far removed from the end of "The Monkees", and Peter Tork played a Guild, much like the M-85...if not the same guitar. Gotta tel ya...I'm verging on jealousy...'74 Guild M-85 II Bluesbird Bass
The reason I couldn't imagine owning a Jazz Bass is because, to my mind, things get so crowded down below the 3rd fret. I don't know what I'd do with 5 strings down there! Is it as thin / crowded as I imagine?Fender MIA 5 string J bass
Well, it's Japanese-made from 1994 and it has active P and J pick up configuration, with treble and bass boost/cut knobs, pan knob for both pick ups, and of course volume. It's body is a little lighter/smaller than a standard P (from what I remember, it's been a long time since I played a standard P, though) and a Jazz neck on it. Mine is in red finish with gold hardware, and it does have a punchy tone to it. It's in a little rough shape right now (a lot of the paint chipped off and it has a short,) so it's been retired for the time being until I can get it repaired. It was my main bass for over a decade and has been used on recordings and everything else. It was a good work horse and served me well.I seen pictures of them, but have never had my hands on one. Tell us more?
Only four, but I have this crazy feeling that this is only the beginning.
