I have 8 beauties i just got the 2015 Fender American standard P bass today. I just did a post on it and if your in the market for a 63 Vintage series get this you will save 6 to 700 hundred its has the same pickups it has the mint color pickguard it comes with the case candy and i like the case better then the tweed. Its a great bass I had 2011 and this is better bass overall its worth 1,299.00

4. 1976 Carvin LB 70 thats on its way can't wait this bass is special it has P bass body Rickenbacker neck its same dimensions and it has mono and stereo outputs like the Rick Dual hum buckers. back in 76 it was 285 dollar bass and the case was an additional 50 or 60 bucks

Wow...that's quite a spread!
Actually, though, I own a Lotus P copy that is identical to a certain model Hondo P copy and it's really a pretty darn nice player. I need to work on the nut a bit, and the thing is so heavy it's as though it were made of granite, but I have a lot of fun with it.

I'll bet that would sound awesome through my Orange Terror Bass.
As it is, I think there is something about the sound of an SG through an Orange stack, so I imagine bass wise, it would probably prove similar results. Is that the 2015 model? I know they jacked the prices of everything up this year and got rid of a lot of the cheaper models, which bummed me out a little.

Hey Paul. Yeah, it's a 2015, and it would probably sound pretty awesome through an Orange. The 2015 is $154. more than the 2014. I didn't mind the increase so much, when I added up the upgrades. A stronger input jack, heavier wiring, improved fretting, Mother of Pearl inlays, a thicker one piece Rosewood board, and better hardshell case. The pups are exceptional too. It sounds like an active, but it's a passive. A lot of bottom, and balls to it. You're 18" should handle the pups great. It does sound very good through the Hartke HD150.

Yeah, I could really rattle the windows with that, especially with 1000 watts at my disposal. You know, one of these days I really should dime that thing and see what that sounds like. I've only had it up a tiny fraction and it's pretty loud, but then again it's in a small room and not some huge place somewhere.
You know, I actually played through a pair of original Hartke 4x10" cabs (some of the early ones with the Guild label on them) in NYC with a Gallien Kruger 800RB head. It was the house rig, but I forgot the name of the place. Those were nice sounding cabs. The GK wasn't a slouch, either. I actually considered some of those again, but it wasn't in the budget at the time. I did want an 18" cab, anyway. Still, for a different sound down the road, it's an idea.

My friend needed a replacement bass back in 1971, so I sold him my EB0 that he ran through a Kustom 200 head, and 2 2X15 cabs. Then he went with the Acoustic 360-361, with the 18". That was a Beast with the EB0's Humbucking acting as an active pup, for some serious input into the head.

Yeah, I say so. The whole thing probably weighed and cost enough for a small economy car back then, too.I know those Kustom amps weren't cheap. I've seen the price list for over a grand and that was the 60's.
As good as the Kustom sounded, the Acoustic had the sound, and the arena, stadium size power!
I'll bet it did. So what do you think of those Guitar Center ones that are around now? I know they're not that expensive, but you think they are worth a crap, or not worth it. I've seen various opinions around the web and here. I'm not shopping but curious to see if you messed with them or not. I know it's not the original company, but then again, not too many companies are these days.
