Here are mine:

My problem is when I have a gig or rehearsal, I can't choose which bass to play.

a 4 string Epiphone Rock Bass that I want to replace for a better 4 string, probably a Jazz too. Likely a Squier, I quite liked the VM.
a 5 string Ibanez GSR 255, that I'm doubtful about (got it this week, still on 100% satisfaction guarantee so I might use it). Looking at an Ibanez SR 605.

Absolute cheapos are not my thing, seemingly. My wallet is, though.

Also a Cello.

Hmmm, posting because I might be moving up from the most popular category into the 10-20 soon... Let's see:

  • Aria Pro II Steve Bailey Model 6-string fretless (not currently in use - needing better pups and pre)
  • Ibanez SG 6-string
  • Customized Ibanez SG 5-string
  • Ibanez 5-string fretless
  • Ibanez BTB 5-string
  • Epiphone El Capitan 5-string fretless acoustic/electric
  • rainbow bass 5-string fretted with Kahler trem - Carl Thompson imitation
  • Tanatos Claymore 7-string
  • Plywood upright bass - manufacturer unknown
  • Ergo 7-string electric upright bass
Oops, that's 10 already! But I just got a raise and am celebrating stoopidly - I just pulled the trigger on a 2nd Tanatos Claymore because it's purty and has the 30-fret option. I'm also in the process of ordering one of those BTB33 VOLOs to use as a tenor bass and also because I'm curious about the new-fangled ramp.

And finally I'm looking for a great 6-string fretless electric. My El Capitan has awesome feel and growl but I can't use it in loud bands, and my two fretless electrics do not have enough mwah and punch for my taste. But I might be willing to trade towards that goal so I don't know if I'll hit 13 basses or not this year! :hyper:

I got an Ibanez Mikro which is my main bass, used to have a Warmoth made out of baritone parts for backup (same scale lenght), but sold that. And then I have an old beaten up Aria Pro II which I now have raised the strings on and converted to a picolo slide bass.

Idealy I would have another Mikro as backup, a defreted Mikro and a Mikro converted to six string E-E bass.

Oh, what a drag. Is this due to lack of interest, giving up on playing or because of financial concerns, if I may ask?

I have had times over the past 15 years when I was bass-less because I was forced to sell everything and couldn't afford anything else. I know how that is.

Don't mean to pry, but hope all is well for you.
