How many Emo bassists does it take to change a lightbulb?

emo is a term that is derived from the subgenre of early screamo/punk
i'm talking about the diy screamo/punk like pg. 99, hot cross, and neil perry.

it started out as a very high energy and expressive form of music and still is to those who started it and we're a part of it.



to sum it up, emo is a genre of music that started out great and is nothing like the *$@# that is shoved down peoples throats these days. anything that any of you guys think is emo is all just a big joke.

anyone who calls themselves emo or lets others call them emo are a big joke as well. they're just teenagers with nothing else to do.

I don't think the poster meant for people to take it THAT seriously lol

It's just like calling someone "gay" because they do something stupid or wierd. It's the connotation, not the actual definition that makes people use the word. When I get mad at my speakers for being so damn heavy and call them "gay" does that mean they do other speakers with the same type of 1/4 jacks? :rolleyes:

Thats just what I was about to say, besides, the only reason people put them down is cuz they think that they are original when they are clearly not. I cant wait for 5 or 10 years from now when nobody remembers what emo is cuz its just a fad. My question is, how are emo kids considering them selves original or individuals when they all wear the same gay clothes and comb-over hairdoo like its some kind of ******** looking uniform, thats a real model of non-conformity.

About the point that someone did a study on Wikipedia articles on science topics and found that the error rate was roughly equivalent to Encyclopedia Britannica.

Really. I would love to know more about this someone and their study. 'Cause I'm thinkin a site where anybody and their brother can put stuff up can in no way compete with a conventionally vetted resource. Don't get me wrong, I'm fairly teachable just ask my wife but "somone doing a study" don't get it for me. :)

The difference between me and emo kids is the fact that I can handle a little criticism about what I listen to and the way I dress, I'm not emo, but I am a black guy who is into rock music. You dont even know how much **** I get from other ignorant black people who cant handle the fact that I'm not a walking stereotype like they are cuz I dont listen to rap, wear a T-shirt 18 sizes too big, hang my pants down to my knee's, or have a mouth full of jewelry. But I dont cry or write poems about it(I most certainly wouldn't be caught dead in girls pants either), I just let it roll of my back and I get on with my day. Thats my reason for making fun of emo kids(rant over).
