If they made these as 5'ers I'd give my eye teeth for one...I played one of these 4's and it was THE best playing bass I've ever touched.

But yes... Nice bass.
You are definitely right on that. But initially, the 400 series were compared side-by-side to the Fender P's and Jazz's that were made then. The craftsmanship was far superior. However, the electronics and components lagged a bit. I put in some Bart's on mine and it's the best sounding Fender-ish bass I've played.

That's a pic of the Vintage Re-Issue that being sold now. This goes to show how incredible these basses were. The fact that ESP would create a vintage re-issue, says a lot about the quality and demand for these basses. But, the most surprising thing was the PRICE they are selling it for.
So what is the difference between ESP and ESP LTD? I am looking into getting an LTD, but I am really confused as to what the difference is. Anyone want to give me some insight?
I've got gas for a couple basses right now but I got gas for this bass like no other...

I love les pauls and the LP bass I have right now is just...ugly. flat top, nasty finish. if it was carved with a finish like that, then i'd love it..the body is also too big on it. but these...the EC-414s are just perfect. I will own one of these sooner or later.

Just got a esp ltd 405 but it seem to be always be out of tune on the fetts went infact it tune on the open and 12th. do any of you guy have that problem?

ESP J-Four (Only one I still have) Kills any other passive bass. Light, very balanced, and very fast neck.
ESP M-IV Great P/J bass. Too "P" bass like for my hand though.
LTD ESP EC-404 Great player, but very heavy weight and neck dive.
Been GAS'in for a ESP B-1, super rare! Very EBMM Sterling like- Jazz styled neck with MM styled pickup!

Just bought an ESP LTD D-4 as a starter. Went to one of the local shops and had the owner try a few out for me and fell in love with the sound.
Thats just the innotation, it slipped on mine but that was mainly due to using different gague strings. Its an easy fix if you've got a good tuner. Or if your not comfortable doing it yourself take it to a tech.
Just traded a TB For this. Did the upgrade myself. Install Bart's neck pickup and added a passive switch which by pass all control. Added a switch to kill battery so I don't have to keep unpluging the cord and added a LED light to show went active is on.
I've been eying a ESP LTD F-414... Unfortunately I have no way to try one out. Guitar center carries them but only for special order, so I can't go down to the shop and actually experience what it plays like. Anyone have any experience with these or something similar that can share some info? Thanks...
