How Many Gigs Did You Play In 2018?

Around 140 this year. I'm in a top 40 cover band that gigs just about every Friday and Saturday with a random Sunday or holiday thrown in. I'm also in an outlaw country/southern rock original band with the same group of guys as the cover band. That band fills in the empty dates from the cover band. I'm also part of an acoustic act with the singer from those bands.

I've been doing this for 11 years now. Plus I have a full time job and 2 children. I'm a single dad with 50/50 custody of my kids. WHAT IS SLEEP??

I'm somewhere well north of 40 - lost track! I have the good fortune of being part of two good cover bands. All of us are hobbyists with solid careers/ businesses/students.

1) classic rock/ blues - we literally doubled the number of gigs we played in 2017. Amazing what putting yourself out there can do....

2) modern/classic country with rock/pop/thrown in. This band - my baby - is picking up steam. We gigged as much as we wanted, and were turning them down! It helps when your lead female singer is a Carrie Underwood/Miranda Lambert /Patsy Cline/Lizzy Hale combo. My job is easy....

The best part is transitioning out of the bar gig and into the wedding/festival circuit. Hours and pay....

I was a bit down this year at about 160 shows. Overall quality of shows went up and I actually made more money playing maybe 20+- less times than in 2017.
Talking to my brother (drummer) about it the other day. He ended the year down by about 30 gigs from last year as well, he only did 358 in 2018.

Zero. Used to be about 30-80,but I pretty much gave up gigging three years ago after 53 years of it. It's possible I might still do one, but I'm not trying to. I'm back to just enjoying jamming with no pressure.

Typical 40 to 50 gigs. 2019 is on schedule to be about the same. However, with the recent release of or full length original recording we're hoping for a few more high profile gigs.

I'm not sure, but I think around 20-25.

2018 has not been a year full of gigs for me. However, I've played very important gigs, bigger than what I'm used to and with the possibility of traveling around my country. This year has been good!

Not enough for the time spent preparing to play shows, believe me!!

3 shows with "Volts", 4 shows with "Bon's Salute" (both ACDC Tribute cover bands). 2 hard rock cover shows with "Inferno" (shared lineup with Volts).
But the hilight of 2018 was debuting my original band "Stem Cell" as part of a local festival. That was awesome. Then the guitarist quit in October and we've been in the process of seeking a replacement since.

2019 is looking pretty quiet on the gig front so far as well

38 gigs in 2018
pretty significant drop from 2017 due to 3 fairly steady original bands shutting down late last year.
So I ended up doing more subbing and getting out and auditioning (heh, never gets old ).
On the upside I did play a bunch of different music this year, and 2019 is looking more and more booked.

I chose 104+, but I have to admit, a majority of those would be as a reed player in musicals.

As a bassist, I probably played around 30 between my various cover bands.

We played 47 gigs in 2018. It should have been more but we have been working with a guitarist who was not always available to play. We expect to play more in 2019 and have 35 gigs booked already.

In addition of my 160+- gigs I did record two albums and did at least 3 or 4 rehearsals. I also went surfing quite a bit.

An even 30 – the bulk of which were between June and September, which is prime wedding season here in the Northeast.
