I just pieced together my first one with an '64 AVRI body with a 2016 American Standard neck. I'm really happy with how everything feels and sounds. I was going for the traditional/vintage look and sound with some modern touches (lightweight tuners, 9.5 radius, graphite rods) and i've been enjoying the new feel and sounds i'm getting opposed to my p basses.
I don't think this one jazz will be enough though. I'm thinking that two would get me everything I would need jazz bass wise. For the second something more modern (five strings, twenty four frets, thirty five inch scale length, active with flexible midrange, modern design pickups) like the Tony P signature that Lull is in the process of making.
