How many only have one bass?

I would have only one bass if I could but:

If I just have the stingray I'm missing out on the passive mellow tones, I don't think I could bring myself to sell the cort anyway, It's one hell of a bass.

but if you're just playing at home, I see no reason why you need more than one bass.

wanting more than one (SEE G.A.S.) is another matter entirely.

I only have one bass, but I don't know about the happy part. I love my 5501 but I'm looking for a 5 string fretless.

I play on stage 3 times a week on average, and only have my one bass. I would like to get a 5 stringer eventually though

I currently own only one bass... And it sucks (the situation, not the bass). I always believed in "keeper" or "main" basses, but you always need a backup, just to be sure. Apart from a backup, a second, different one I believe is essential to people playing in more than one bands. Either way, still looking for a new sixer!

I've only got one bass, which is the same one I've always had since I started playing.

Would a new bass be nice? Yeah, it would, but the one I've got now works just fine for everything I do, so I really don't see much point in spending money I don't have, on a new bass that I don't need.

Once when they make a bass that can convert between fretted and fretless, has add-able strings, and has a decent passive/active switch, then we can all truly rest with one bass.

I play 150+ gigs a year (as my living) and use only one bass. I never carry a back up along and have never needed one (probably just jinxed myself). I do have another bass that sits in my closet but never gets played.

Same here. whatever my new bass is makes it the only bass i use.
I dont have room for a back up in the car and i have never duplicated basses so if i buy a bass its to be used on everything.
My Fender P5 covers everything i need at the moment so my Jazz sits in its case (its been there for about three years now) and my Old "only" bass, the DD is going to be sold soon.
