I've worn glasses since 4th grade. Contacts since I was 10. My eyesight is bad enough to keep me out of the U.S. military (I've tried 4 times to get into various branches). I've also been denied LASIK by 3 different surgeons. I'm currently saving up to have IOL implants (basically, permanent contact lenses implanted inside the eyes).
