How much did it really cost?

I buy my gear from gig earnings... I just let her know that "there's a package arriving!" :hyper:
This right here. I also make sure that she shares the bounty, either by buying her something from the gig money once in a while or by handing her some twenties from the stash when she's going shopping for herself.
It's just the cost of doing business. :)

I've heard that divorces cost more.

Garanteed as sure as the sun rose this morning divorces cost more, (and yes worth every penny) I'm on my third marriage. that being said, on one occasion, some things i've borrowed from a friend, ... that I've had in my possession,... for a very long time,... those friends i've loaned a few hundred dollars to when they were in a bind,... and are taking a very long time to pay me back,... .... ....

This question comes p at least once a week, does everyone on Talkbass live in some kind of old-fashioned American sitcom or something?

haha, that's what I wonder! Although I do have one friend that might be in this kind of relationship...

My dad got divorced over a dumb purchase. My mom was disabled and he came home in a new Dodge Neon that she couldn't sit it - it was a pretty selfish unannounced move coming from a joint bank account.

I would never be in a relationship like my parents. No joint accounts unless small and specific. A woman that buys me $800 musical instrumental gifts even when she is unemployed and broke.

Pardon. I'm sure children have gotten tongue lashings before. Spanking didn't really take, so getting chewed out for doing something I knew was wrong did a lot to teach me how to conduct myself. Hit a kid and the message gets blurred. Sometimes it is nature. Sometimes you need to experience something. Sometimes it is nurture. If you get really negative feedback and/or physical punishments, you may learn the wrong thing. Tricky, humans are to raise. Yes indeed.

I implied a very different meaning to the term, "tongue lashing".

My mistake for insufficiently 'splainin.

Really, this talking of tongue lashings and spankings and big bottoms has to stop. This is not that kind of website. And I certainly do not want to see any "P on Me" threads, although if you had a picture of you with a Precision strapped on, you could probably get away with it.

Oh I know and I shouldn't have been so,juvenile as to post that, so I absolutely apologise to yourself and anyone else who was offended. Wasn't even really that funny, either, so lose-lose! Sorry. Be well and may your postings be liked by many good sir!

No sweat man, I ought to have put a smiley next to my first post. Maybe added, "Hee hee... he said tongue lashing".

I started the juvie behavior, after discovering that very cool -- in my juvenile view -- album cover thread missing.

On the subject of being offended...

“It's now very common to hear people say, 'I'm rather offended by that.' As if that gives them certain rights. It's actually nothing more than a whine. 'I find that offensive.' It has no meaning; it has no purpose; it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. 'I am offended by that.' Well, so what?" - Stephen Fry
