why is this Marc Ronson character given the time of day? .
Because he wrote and produced it, same reason he's in Bruno Mars' vid.

As far as this duet, there was nothing there to hold my attention other than the obvious. Just my opinion.
I think this song is a pile of dookie trying to dress up like a spaghetti western
this song sounds like a really bad Lana Del Rey song.
It beats me how someone can try so blatantly and obviously to market themselves as a sex symbol, and yet fail so completely.
Yes sir. May I have another scolding for not aligning to the topic so that I may be corrected for possible future infractions? It feels so good.OK.
Let's decipher that "stellar" word in relation to Cyrus' performing that particular song.
This thread is called, "How much do looks really matter?".
Here is more about Miley's "look/s" during that performance.

"But perhaps the appearance will be most remembered for how Cyrus defied physics with her cleavage-baring track suit. Gorilla tape? Super glue? Whatever means Cyrus used to prevent a massive wardrobe malfunction ultimately proved successful, but undoubtedly gave Lorne Michaels’ a heart attack in the process."

"The 26-year-old singer sported a black pantsuit worn with no bra underneath..."
"While the singer risked a wardrobe malfunction with the daring look, she managed to avoid baring it all as Ronson strummed a guitar by her side."
I was just waiting for you to somehow relate this to my hipster generation, lol.
Thanks for the invite. If anyone has a question about matching string silks to your tie hit me up.I previously related it to boomers who wore jeans and tee shirts in an act of rebellion, so come on in and enjoy the party, it’s an all-ages event.
But, so did our audiences. Which, like us, were military people, stationed overseas in the early '70s. All of us spent waay too much time in for-real uniforms; most of us were in our early 20s; and whenever we got the chance to, everybody dressed more or less like this... The audience didn't care what we looked like; the venues didn't care what we looked like; and we got $$$'s and free beer. Worked out great for everybody..I saw the Miley Cyrus/SNL thing last night....The whole time I was thinking she has to dress like that to distract from the fact that her voice sounds like what a tumor would sound like if it could sing.

As cool as Lemmy was, I couldn't show up dressed like him at a majority of my gigs.View attachment 3250048
