How much do you practice; how much could you practice?

I'm in a working band and I practice at least 2 hours every day (except gig days of course). I'll take a day off occasionally and usually spend it working on gear maintenance. I'm 64 and retired from the 9-5 ratrace. This is my retirement plan and I love it! I suppose I COULD practice more but I'm perfectly happy where I'm at.

I run through the band set list+ twice a week usually before the gig, so 70 songs straight through per practice helps me to stay sharp and limber :)

I don't practice as much or in the same way that I used to when I was younger.

Ditto on that here...At one point i was practicing every day for 4 hours or so a day. A couple of hours before work and a couple of hours after.

These days? I try to pick up my bass for at least 30 minutes a day to either run some exercises or run through some tunes. On the weekends I'll try to devote several hours if not a whole day to practicing.

Biggest regret for me at this point is essentially stopping playing for several years, partly our of frustration with my musical situation but also due to my day job. Some management changes at work led to me not really being able to get my head into music and that set me back a great deal.

When Im not around my bass I will try to still get bass stuff into my head by listening to instructional videos while driving or while Im at work
