How Old is to Old

Dude, I turn 60 on the 13th, I pocked up the bass 12 years ago, played exclusively in church for the 1st 10 years of my playing, joined a band a little over a year ago (just got back from rehearsal) most fun I've had playing, crack a couple of beers with the band mates and we have a great time... all of us are in our late 50's and early 60's ....DO IT!

I'm a 90s man and playing with these justin bieberish kids always was really a horror to me. Someone who didn't know Cobain or Cornell didn't know music imho.

Now i'm playing real old blues etc with 20 year olds who love it. (good) music is boundaryless. Also played with 14 & 15 year olds in a gospel band and never had as much fun in a band. Age is unimportant in a band. Rock on!

Hasn't everything about Kiss been a money-making gimmick since day one?

So your error was deliberately included for education purposes?

Ha. That’s what I get for not paying attention. my post originally just started with “Probably”. When I deleted the capital P and added your, my phone’s auto correct had a field day. To your point though, I wasn’t correcting anyone.

I'm 66, play every week in our church band, leader is 46, the drummer (64) and I put a locomotive on his tail every week. Plus, I have several street fair things this summer where I haul and set up the p.a. and run sound all day, besides playing with 2 bands, plus a solo songwriter singer set. Sure, that day I'll be tired, but what the heck, you only live once before you kick, so...

Just sitting here thinking so hear is my question. I’m 56 almost 57 and I play gospel. I’m wanting to either start a band or join one. How old is to old? Just want to hear some thoughts and opinions.
The music industry is dead. There are no rules. If you love playing music, then don’t let anyone discourage you from doing what you love.

PS just please leave the 80s spandex hair metal stage outfits at home lol
