Just sitting here thinking so hear is my question. I’m 56 almost 57 and I play gospel. I’m wanting to either start a band or join one. How old is to old? Just want to hear some thoughts and opinions.

The guitarist in the dad band who contacted me for bass is 72 if that tells you anything!

Age is just a number. People grow old at different rates. Go to school reunion and you'll see what I mean. Everybody there is about the same age from the ones who look like they did in the yearbook pictures to the ones who look like they have one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel. How you play is whole other story. If you can still nail your parts, play. There are plenty of folks out there on stages who shouldn't be regardless of age.

I'm 65 and doing 6-10 country gigs a month. I'd rather be playing blues but these guys keep me real busy. I hope to keep on playing until they drag my lifeless body off the stage of some smoke filled honkytonk. Preferably after the last set of the night is done.
