how old were you at your first gig?

My first live performance in front of audience was in 3rd grade (so about 9) on drums :)
I can't remember what I performed, but it was in the school auditorium and my drum teacher (had him all the way thru 9th grade) was sitting next to me coaching me.

My first bass gig was at 14 with my first band at the school dance.

9 years old on a mandolin playing "ethnic folk" (1970!), 11 on a bass playing Zepplin/Sabbath and J. Winter, 16 on a bass gigging CW/Rockabilly every weekend with a bunch of old farts like me now!

I probably did 400 shows between 16 and 18! My favrites were the "free" biker-based benefits. Not since have I seen women obey commands like that!

Wouldn;t trade my youth for the world.
