Hi guys,

So I have found the perfect bass on Facebook marketplace for a project I wanting to do.

Only problem it is at the other end of the country.

The seller is willing to post but obviously I don’t want to send some random person money for something I don’t have and they don’t want to post something they haven’t been paid for.

Is there some sort of escrow service that we could use to hold the money and it is realised once it is either sent or received?

Buying a bass long-distance is always a matter of trust. I bought a bass on the other side of Europe and during the communication I had with the seller I knew he could be trusted and the bass was real. I usually try to meet halfway but that was impossible in this case. So I'd try to meet halfway. Driving a few hours is something I wouldn't mind when it comes to the perfect bass.

PayPal goods and services, tied to a credit card. You buy the shipping label, through Pirateshp.com and email it to them.
You have the tracking, and they don’t ship? Contact PayPal, and they refund you. PayPal gives you grief, threaten to reverse the charges.

I probably would meet them halfway but don’t think the seller would be as open to it

If you are dead set against shipping, take a few days off and go get the bass. It will cost a lot more than shipping, but if it is the only way to get the perfect bass…

That would be a roadtrip.

🤣🤣 11hr round trip. The bass isn’t even that expensive. It is just ideal for what i am wanting to do.

The seller will ship it, it is just the whole paying someone I don’t know for something I don’t have and trusting them to send it I can’t get over

Here in the states we can use PayPal goods and services for payment. The seller gets charged a fee however you can increase the amount of you payment to cover it. Outside if that, it’s all about trust. Ask for a quick call and talk to the seller. You should be able to a comfort level pretty quick (or not).

Another option is to post a new thread on here titled “Anyone in XXXX that can check out a bass for me?” You’d be surprised how many members here would be happy to help.
