I don't know what they were thinking. I guess they figured that giant P rout would hide under the Jazz pickguard easier than just making a second Jazz rout.

Fender has giant J routes under the pickguard...

What's wrong with a little Christmas magic? Turning a J into a P isn't that big a deal when you consider UPS routinely changes high end basses into kindling.

I believe the point of this post is that the kit picture shows the parts for a P-J bass, the completed bass is P-bass, and then close ups of the parts are all Jazz Bass parts.

It's more than that, it's Christmas in March, when you get 5% off for buying two (or more) kits. Never mind that the pics include one exploded Jazz and a white Precision ready to go. That's the before and after effect that we, as consumers, have been conditioned since birth to recognize. Why do you think the overweight, miserable slob with the psoriasis, thinning hair, and bad breath is grimacing in the "Before" photo? Because after you buy whatever it is they're trying to sell, your life becomes care free and wonderful. That's why the person on the right side (the right side, get it?) of the photo labeled "After" is always smiling. Life is full of rainbows and puppies for them. Now buy the damn bass kit, will ya!

If you wanna get practical, conflicting pictures is one part of passing the eBay vendor smell test - or, as it were, NOT passing it; move on, find a vendor that can at least locate the clue rental store.
