I have a BB1000s as well, one of my all time favorite basses.

How to date it beyond mid 80's, I don't know.

I can't find the thread but someone on here got a Yamaha and didn't know exactly what it was. A few of the guys that posted seemed really knowledgable. I would guess there is a Yamaha club, Id ask them.

BB1200 = Dec. 1977 - 1983

BB2000 = Dec. 1978 - 1990

BB2000F = Mar. 1979 (only 100 were made) ( if you have this DON'T SELL IT!)

BB2000S = Dec. 1981- 1983

BB1000S = 1981-1987

BB5000 = Nov. 1984 - 1994

BB-VI = Dec. 1980 - 1985

BB-VIS = Dec. 1981 - 1985

BB-VII = Dec. 1981 - 1986

BBG4A, BBG4S, BBG5A = Apr. 1996 - 1999

BBNES = Aug. 1994

No, BB1000S was made after BB1000. 1981-1987. I updated my earlier post.

Ok thanks, I think it has been made in 1987, i'm not sure...

On guitardaterproject.org the serial number is unvalided, but If I insert NZ90314 instead of 090314 it's Ok...
