In other news, the aforementioned douche is now blatantly and unambiguously threatening my life, my family, and my well-being.

A question for the talkbass crowd (and no, this isn't the only place I'm soliciting advice ): are threats made through email actionable?

You bet they are.

Step #1: Print out copies of all relevant email.

Step #2: Pay a visit to your local police station, stating that you wish to file a criminal complaint against D-Bag (aggravated harassment would be a good start).

Step #3: Provide the police with all relevant background information, as well as complete contact information for D-Bag, to the extent that you can.

Step #4: Don't allow the police to talk you out of it (if they should try). Be absolutely immovable about this. Insist upon pressing charges.

Step #5: See this thing through to the end. Cooperate fully with the arresting officers, the district attorney, and the judge. Don't for a moment allow yourself to be tempted to drop charges.

If getting this jackass locked up is what it takes in order to get him out of your life permanently, then so be it. Go after him.
