Any one have a good link or reference that explains the whole speakers, amp, sound and loud thang? I was reading the "are two 100W amps louder than a 200W amp post and still not tracking with the feedback.

Actually, is there a chart that describes the folowing:

Let's jst use 500hz as the source freq.
@ 1w a 1x10 = xx db
@ 1w a 2x10 = xx db
@ 1w a 4x10 = xx db
@ 1w a 1x12 = xx db
@ 1w a 2x12 = xx db
@ 1w a 4x12 = xx db
etc, etc.

Well, size matters to a certain degree in terms of volume and dispersion. However, size doesn't dictate an inherent tone. Loudness depends a lot on sensitivity and maximum excursion. Most companies will give you the thermal rating of their cabs but the maximum mechanical limits of the speakers are well under this figure.

IIRC, BFM has said something along the lines of. It's more cost-efficient to reproduce low frequencies with large drivers, but as you go up in frequency, dispersion gets worse until the crossover frequency, and the mid/high drivers take over.

This. Sensitivity for individual drivers and frequency response for those drivers are highly divergent. Also, the box that drivers are in can make a big difference as well.

True, a 15" cone moving say 3mm displaces more air than a 10" cone moving the same 3mm. That's also just one of a very many things to consider in speaker design.

No, because power and driver complement are only two variables in an equation that involves no less than fifteen variables.

Maybe. Output in the lows is all about displacement. While the single 10 may not move as much air as the single 15 you do have 8 of them moving instead of 2. Throw response in the mix and the 215 could still have more output in the very lower frequencies. Depends on a bunch of other design parameters.

Barefaced Bass - BGM Columns

This is playing to what I'm hearing when I stand in the crowd and listen to other players. While I'm using a GK MB115 Combo & love the tone, I'm needing more power soon.

Played through a GK NEO 412 which was nice & I'm sure I'd be happy with, but PA guy kinda killed my adjustments. Hearing another player with great tone and cutting through using 2 GK NEO cabinets. Researching.
