I play that song in a party rock band as I'm sure many of us do. The first little fill he plays in the third pass through the verse form is actually pretty good, I might steal that. Also according to the video that fill didn't cost him any money.

Yes on this, some bass players forget that their responsibility is ROOT FIRST. and dont overplay. He sounds like a guitar center show off,,,,That's skillful, I'll agree. But if you want to play like that, I say "be a guitar player"

I get the joke, but pretty sure when I saw him last summer, Verdine White was playing September on a J with rounds.$150 with flats.
