How to make a bass sound only one octave higher?

Hi I play a 6 string bass and I'm working on a chord melody technique, so I'd like my bass to sound one octave higher than the real notes I'm playing. Many octave pedals can make the bass sound one or even two octave higher but the original sound (octave) of the the bass is still there, i.e., the pedal delivers two sounds, the original octave and one octave above. I'm looking for a pedal that can make my bass sound ONLY one octave higher, somewhat like a guitar. Is there any pedal for that purpose?

The Boss ME-50B has an octave shift that I'm assuming works like a wah pedal controller, but that's a multi-effect unit.
Jared Followill from Kings of Leon uses one in the intro to Closer to raise the pitch of hiss bass beyond what it is normally capable of.

You could try to play ping pong. That will surely make it sound higher. But idk if it'll be exactly one octave... too much and you could get up to nearly 2 octaves, too little and you could only get 1/2 of an octave. Either way... PINGPONG!

Let me explain. I play 6 string bass on a gig in a duo with a percussionist. We play mostly jazz standards and bossa nova (only bass and percussion). I use to play some songs in chord melody on bass, then I may improvise one chorus or play a walking bass line or just play the melody for one part of the song, got it? So it's a multi task job. I would like to get a pedal or any effect that could make my chord melody on BASS sound one octave higher. I'm not a guitar player.

It's capable of a lot more than you're looking for, but a Whammy pedal could do what you want. A Pitchfactor would be even more extreme and expensive, but based on the gig you described, I could imagine you finding many more uses for it.

So far it sounds like the POG variants or the Pitchfactor might be the best options. You need polyphonic operation and I *think* that everything else mentioned so far only works on single notes.

You should try them out, the artificial quality of the digitally transposed notes may not be to your liking, especially in an acoustic jazz context.

I know you're looking for an octave effect, but maybe something like a VB99? You can transpose some strings up an octave while leaving the other strings low. That would be really nice if you want to separate the voices while you play.

The Pitchfactor has a LPF on the "pitchflex" effect (whammy clone) that can help tame some of the digital harshness. I had the POG2 for awhile, but like the Eventide much, much more.

Line 6 M5 (and M9/M13) have a Harmonizer effect that can be octave up, and 100% wet.

Boss PS-3: another very clean but with very slight (but musical) warble
EHX BMS XO: dirty OCT +1 but kills!
