How to remove 'Basslines' logo from pickup?

That's what i removed, pickles. The Lakland J's had an open circuit in the bridge pu and the neck pu measured a whopping 11.75k ohms!

What do you mean open circuit?

I tried Poon's lakland Js in my JO5 and liked the so much I had Hanson make me a set. I never measured the impedance, but they sound solid, bright, and great. More detailed than the Duncans.

Just use acetone (whats in nail polish remover) very lightly, and make sure and clean it all off after. Something like Acetone or even just Paint thinner (100% Mineral Spirits kind) Wont melt plastic unless you leave it for over a minute, so if you just apply, rub, and dry/clean it after, your fine. its putting it on then leaving it there which will allow it to eat away at the plastic.

Depends on the plastic. Will often damage the surface as soon as it comes into contact.

Open circuit as in ...loose wire. It still made sound but not pleasant sound. The front pickup was severely over-wound.

I've been all through your thread....I liked the Duncan sound clip by quite a margin. Really appreciate your work there.

I'm thinking I'll get the Lakie pups rewound to be like they are supposed to be.

Cool, glad that was helpful! I'd definitely contact hanson about a warranty repair on those. Pickups shouldn't have problems like that.

I use medium auto buffing compound. Takes some elbow grease but doesn't scratch or eat away the cover.

I just removed the logo from 3 of them. I used straight acetone. I put a little bit of it on a rag, wiped the cover down, and the logo came off immediately. It took virtually no elbow grease at all. I made sure to wipe any excess off, so as to not harm the plastic any.

It looks great, and was very quick and easy.
