How to tote an SVT/810

I used to like 410's, but I got with 115"s for small cabs these days.
can you score on a 115??? just want to make sure all basses are covered
Jimmy, please don't go back to your combo! I bought a '72 metal badge 8x10 because 1. I've always pined for a real SVT cab, and 2. Your experience with them.
However, I only have to do 3 stairs into or out of the house, and even can be a pain in the a$$. I've been using big cabs, beginning with a Fender M-80 2x15 since I was 15. Where are your stairs? Home? Maybe you could buy some 2x4 boards and make a runner that you could slide the cab up and down, just screw them together with hinges for easy storage. Kind of crackpot I know, but that's all I could come up with.
Do you have a dolly for your cab? Have you thought about installing nylon runners?
I also have an early '80's MTI era 8x10, and prefer to gig with that because it "seems" lighter. It's a slantback, has it's own wheels, and has 2 spring loaded handles where you'd normally find the towel bar.

Jimmy, I don't know if there is solution that will allow you to make one trip for everything and handle stairs.
I used to schlep two heavy 4X12 boogie cabinets and a coliseum head (I alway regret selling that rig). Cartage costs were crazy. I wound up using something called a multicart. It folds for use as a cart or hand truck. It carried the speakers, amp, instrument, and trunk case for cables, effects, etc. Here's a Sarasota company (Link Removed) that has what I'm talking about. The prices don't look too bad but more than at Home Depot. The film industry uses some nice carts (Liberator Sr., Competitor)(http://www.filmtools.com/equipmentcarts.html) but they're expensive. As others have said, the solid rubber tires are really nice. They're good inside but the road can be hard on them if they're overloaded.

My first question would be how often do you play upstairs gigs? If it's once a month, then just get somebody to give you a hand with the "fridge". If it's every weekend though, good luck. Getn yourself a towel bar handle would probably help too.

I suggest one of those. You can get a tray that will hold the cab nicely, and as an added bonus you can tell the wifey that it means you can do some serious landscaping!
And I can attest to the toughness of those ball carts...I did landscaping for 6 years and the one my family used (for business) has a ton of dents, scratches and dings but hasn't had a single problem (flats included). And the tires are huge, which makes going up stairs easy as heck (I've hauled 200lb rocks up rail road tie stairs with very little effort, the leverage is great).

Might I recommend these two fine individuals as roadies. One of them, it is said, plays bass. As you can see, they can move your SVT fridge - as well as install microwave ovens, custom kitchen deliveries, and color TVs.
Did this go through anyone else's head?

Well, I opted for the cheap way out. Just got back with one of those $50 Craftsman handtrucks with the 10" rubber tires, and a bottle of Slime. I decided the convertible handtrucks weren't going to reduce the amount of trips for me since they were too small to fit the 810 comfortably. And I couldn't afford the good stuff. So I cheaped out. Thanks for the advicve, though...nice to see what's new and cool out there.

I may be looking for a similar solution for my squareback. BTW I don't have an SVT head... yet. Right now I'm running either a V4 w/ 7027's (master volume and gain, no distortion knob.), V4B w/ 6550's (master volume only.), or a B2R. I prefer the V4B over the other two, but I always feel like I don't quite have the headroom I would like.

The wheels. They were wobbly and cracking and about to go. I could have replaced them but it would have been a PITA and the handtruck still wouldn't have been any better at getting up stairs.
As for headroom...it's good to have, but I sure wouldn't let that slow me down from using a V4 or V4B over a B2R.
